Minimata – A Social Reformer of Chhattisgarh
Minimata was a renowned social reformer and women’s leader of Chhattisgarh. Born in Assam, she became the first female Member of Parliament from Chhattisgarh and fought for eradication of untouchability, women’s education, and social equality.

She initiated welfare programs like the Minimata Disability Assistance Scheme and Minimata Hospital to support the underprivileged. Her efforts became a symbol of social awareness and justice in the region.

Even today, she remains an inspiration for Dalit upliftment and women’s empowerment.
